Tap water was introduced to China in 1910, at the end of the Qing dynasty. A new company was set up in Beijing to provide the utility. The company developed into what is now the Beijing City Water Supply Company. This is a surviving façade of the old tap water plant at the Beijing Tap Water Museum.
